A Spartanburg man received a life prison sentence last Thursday after a jury decided he sexually assaulted a teenage girl.
Joseph Gabriel Cobb, 46, was found guilty of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor at the conclusion of a two-day trial. Jurors deliberated less than 2 hours before deciding that Cobb was guilty. Circuit Judge Derham Cole sentenced Cobb in accordance with the state’s two-strike/three-strike law for repeat violent offenders.
Cobb’s prior criminal record included convictions for two counts of voluntary manslaughter and one count of criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.
