Spartanburg City Council breezed through a quick meeting on Monday giving the go-ahead to two rezoning requests and recognizing the good works of young members of the community.
Council heard from City of Spartanburg Planning Director Stephanie Monroe regarding the two zoning requests.
Monroe explained the reason for the request of the first group of six parcels was to locate a used car lot on one of the parcels.
She asked council to rezone the parcels from a Neighborhood Shopping District (B-1) to General Business District (B-3).
This would allow the used car lot to be located there.
Monroe told council “everything to the east of the property is already zoned as General Business District” so it would fit right it.
