Broome downs Chesnee 31-13

By David Stephens
Hometown News

With both the Broome and Chesnee High School football teams winless on the season going into Friday night’s matchup between the two on Broome’s home field, something had to give. While Broome got down to business, Chesnee’s problems with turnovers, mistakes, and missed tackles continued in the Centurions’ 31-17 victory.
Broome scored first in the first quarter at the 4:34 mark on a 33-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Michael Linder to Daquan Jeffries for a 7-0 lead.
Chesnee struck back on the first play of the second quarter on a 13-yard Chase Turner to Markell Hill touchdown pass to tie the score at 7-7.
Broome then squeezed back ahead on with 2 seconds left in the first half with a 25-yard field goal to lead 10-7.
