Governor Nikki Haley stopped in Spartanburg Monday night for a town hall event at Spartanburg Community College.
It took awhile before citizens got to ask the governor questions as she kicked off the event with a video highlighting her first nine months in office.
That was followed by her speaking for 28 minutes about her accomplishments, her report cards for state legislators, and a list of what she wants to accomplish in the 2012 legislative session.
She spoke of her “report card” and noted the House did well but was disappointed with the Senate.
Looking to the 2012 legislative session she said she wants to address job training, tax reform, creating a Department of Administration, reform the state retirement system, and have more accountability from higher education institutions.
Haley said her top priority is “jobs, jobs, jobs.” She touted bringing 15,000 jobs to the state and explained the unemployment rate is at 11% “because we never expected an increase in the work force.”
