Broome’s Brooklyn Bridges sends a kill past Chesnee’s Samantha Haynes on Monday. Bridges had 16 kills in the Lady Centurions’ first-round victory.

Lexi Wilkins made the best of her first full-time varsity volleyball game.
The Broome sophomore helped key runs in each of the Centurions’ first two games Monday night, playing a big part in Broome’s 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-22) victory over Chesnee.
Wilkins served six straight points in game one to turn a 1-4 deficit into a 7-4 lead for the Centurions. In game two, she again served six straight, including three aces, rallying Broome from a 13-11 deficit to a 16-13 lead.
