HOMETOWN NEWS
Get out your calendars because Blacksburg will be honoring its past with the fifth annual Iron City Festival on Saturday, April 17, 2010.
The Blacksburg Business Association-sponsored event will have plenty of entertainment options. A street festival, featuring live bands, food and craft vendors, a heath fair, and a car show, will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., before a street dance and concert from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Previous festivals have been two-day affairs, with a street dance on Friday night, and the actual festival on Saturday, but everything will take place on Saturday this year.
With over 65 food and craft vendors from all over the Southeast, there is no doubt that there will be something for everyone.
A variety of musical acts will literally provide hours of entertainment. Several groups will provide gospel music from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Five other bands will cover other genres on the downtown stage from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The Caribbean Cowboys Band will provide musical entertainment at the Festival’s street dance from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
