Blacksburg Scouts to pump up patriotism

BY JANET S. SPENCER
HOMETOWN NEWS
On seven holidays, Boy Scout Troop 320 in Blacksburg wants to help businesses and residents show their patriotic spirit.
The Scouts who meet weekly at First Baptist Church are offering a holiday flag service as a fundraiser.
A free-standing polyester flag, approximately 3 x 5 in size, will be displayed on a 10-foot pole as a portable unit and placed outside participants’ homes or businesses at a cost of $35 per year.
The Scouts who are working to put the displays together will physically place the U.S. Flags at the specified locations on President’s, Memorial, Flag, Independence, Labor, Patriot and Veteran’s days.

For the rest of the story, read this week’s Blacksburg Times.
