BSHS student wins crown

By David Stephens
Hometown News
Lawson Worley, a 16-year-old junior at Boiling Springs High School, was recently crowned Miss South Carolina Junior Teen in an open pageant competition sponsored by Miss American Coed Pageants (MAC).
Since 1983 MAC has conducted state pageants for the purpose of recognizing and rewarding outstanding young women between the ages of three and twenty-two for their past and present accomplishments and to encourage them to set and achieve goals for the future. In addition, millions of dollars in cash awards and prizes have been presented to girls at state and national competitions.
Lawson Worley was a contestant in the last high school pageant, but this was her first on the state level. Her status as a state finalist was based upon her academic GPA, extracurricular activities, and community service.
