This year video surveillance systems were installed at Chesnee and Boiling Springs High Schools in part as an investigative tool in cases of vandalism or other incidents at the schools.
Now information received on Oct. 18 by Hometown News from School District Two officials says that a key camera in the video surveillance system at Boiling Springs High School was not working properly during the vandalism incident on Oct. 6.
In an email statement District Two’s Director of Student Services, Don Icenhower said, “The cameras did not work as well as we had hoped during the incident in question. We were able to get the individuals on three different cameras but the camera pointing directly at the vandalized area did not provide the needed recording.
