In recent years around graduation time at District Two high schools a few senseless acts of vandalism - referred to by some as “senior pranks” - have taken place. For instance, at one high school last year several hallways in the school were “soaped down”, making transit on them unsafe, and required detours and disrupted classroom schedules.
This year the District Two Schools’ board of trustees has addressed these foolish acts and issued a clear and definite policy regarding consequences to those found complicit in such acts of vandalism.
On 11/9/2010, District Two trustees approved and issued the following policy: “Any senior who violates this administrative rule by engaging in a Level III offense resulting in a multiple day suspension related to a senior prank will automatically forfeit the right to participate in graduation exercises with his/her class in addition to any other punishment imposed by the administration. The principal of each high school will notify seniors and their parent/legal guardians of this rule via the school handbook or a newsletter during the academic year.”
