Graduation ceremonies on June 3, 2009, at Chesnee High School marked the transition into the next phase of life for 147 members of the senior class. Class Valedictorian was Brian Carl Lovovico Nuemann and Salutatorian was Rebecca Nicole Dedmond. Diplomas were presented by District Two School Superintendent Dr. Scott Mercer.
After the ceremony some of the seniors talked about their feelings. Cedric Proctor said, “This feels good and I am excited. I am taking my God - given athletic and academic skills to South Carolina State and I want to thank everyone that helped me along the way.” Netty Wagner said, “I feel so special. It is good to know I can accomplish anything I put my mind to.” Maci Bridges said, “It doesn’t feel real. It is kind of surreal right now, but I am very excited.”
