During last year’s Antique and Classic Bike Show in Chesnee, bikes lined up on several blocks on the main street, South Alabama Avenue. This year the event held on July 26, 2009, following the Chesnee Summerfest, appeared to more than double in size as there were bikes and visitors lined up on not only on the main thoroughfare, but down W. Cherokee Street, side streets and parking lots as well.
The number of vendors was also significantly higher as every empty lot or space on the streets had a vendor. The annual swap meet drew a large crowd as well.
Mayor Max Cash was in attendance and was very pleased with the turnout. Cash said, “This is great for Chesnee. I have been interviewed already by some national magazine and another is waiting. This is great exposure for Chesnee. We are truly one of the great small towns in the state. The group putting on this show has done a tremendous job in growing this event.”
