It has been said before, but bears repeating — while high school football is king the high school bands are in the royal court. One would only need to see and hear the large enthusiastic crowd at Boiling Springs Bulldog Stadium watching and cheering on the 30 bands participating in the 28th annual Bulldog Festival on Bands on September 27 for proof of that statement.
The Chesnee High School Marching Eagles represented their community well at last Saturday’s competition. The Eagles’ Jennifer Curtis was named best drum major and the band took second place in Class II competition. The band is under the direction of Carla Fowler. The band left immediately after their performance for another competition and no one was available for comment.
