David B. Brown, Jr. (Veteran)
Dec. 12, 1928 – July 28, 2008

David Broadus Brown, Jr. 79, of 184 Lake Lyman Heights, died July 28, 2008 at his residence.
A native of Greenville County, son of the late David Broadus Brown, Sr. and Irene Copeland Brown, he was owner/operator for 57 years of Industrial Tool Company. He served in the U.S. National Guard and a member of Lima Baptist Church. Mr. Brown was in the SME Chapter 164 and was elected into The Who’s Who in South Carolina in 1975, co-founder of Riverside Speedway and was the owner of I-85 and Tri-City Speedway.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy B. and Vernon L. Alford, Jr. of Travelers Rest, and Regina and Tim Cantrell of Dacusville; a fiancé Elmina Lynn Sturgill of the home; a brother, Don Brown of Greer; two sisters, Margie Compton of Greer and Betty Seaborn of Mauldin; two grandchildren, David Aaron McJunkin and Nancy of Landrum and Sarah Elizabeth Cantrell of Dacusville and two great-grandchildren Grace McJunkin and Kristin McJunkin.
Visitation was held Tuesday at Wood Mortuary.
Funeral services were be held Wednesday at Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Eddie Cooper. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were be Aaron McJunkin, Anthony Allen, Ray Bayne, Cletus Bayne, Robert Mosteller, Gary Hand, Alan Seaborn and Ronnie Duncan.
The family is at the residence.

Ann R. Jackson
May 12, 1926 – July 25, 2008

Ann Reeves Jackson died Friday, July 25, 2008, at Greenville Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
Born May 12, 1926, in Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late McNally and Stella Westmoreland Reeves. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack R. Jackson, who died in 1980; brother, Carl Reeves; sister, Ruby Van Hook; and two sisters-in-law, Ruth Smathers and Wilda Leatherwood. Ann was a real estate broker in Haywood County for 40 years and a member of Canton Central United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Vicki Hendricks and her husband, Jerry, of Mocksville, and JoAnn Robertson and her husband, Don, of Greer, SC; three sisters, Reva Sayles of Fairview, Hazel Edmunds of Candler, and Margie Ferriss and her husband, Bill, of Hendersonville; two brothers, McNally Reeves of Greenville, SC, and Jack Reeves of Canton; sister-in-law, Doris Turner and her husband, Bill, of Clyde; four grandchildren, Jackson Hendricks and his wife, Katie, of Mocksville, Holly Hendricks of Asheville, Andy Robertson of Greer and Janna Robertson of Greer; and one great-grandson, Robert Jackson Hendricks II of Mocksville.
Graveside services were held Monday at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery with the Reverend Carrol Lindsey officiating. The family will received friends 008, at the Wells Funeral Home in Canton, N.C.

Robert F. McKown
Dec. 25, 1928 – July 28, 2008

Robert Forest McKown, 80, died July 28, 2008 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

A native of Wellford, son of Horace Homer McKown, Sr. and Nina McDade McKown, he was owner/operator of McKown’s Florist, LLC, which he started in 1945. He was a member of Victor Baptist Church for 64 years.
Surviving are a brother, Horace Homer McKown, Jr. and his wife Earline Tapp McKown; a sister-in-law, Marie Benson McKown; a niece, Karen McKown Lee and her husband, H. Allen Lee and a great-nephew, Matthew Allen Lee all of Greer.
Mr. McKown was predeceased by a brother, Reid McKown.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Ken Vickery and Rev. Jason Payne, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Victor Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Richard Conners, William Bomar, Allen Good, Marion Wooten, Butch Miller and Bruce Taylor.
Honorary escort will be the Men’s Sunday school class of Victor Baptist Church, and James “Jim” Benson and W.S. “Sonny” Benson.
Visitation will be held 7:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday at Wood Mortuary.

Alvin G. Revan (Veteran)
May 12, 1936 – July 28, 2008

Alvin George Revan, 72, of 210 Whitten Road, Pelzer, died July 28, 2008 at his residence.
A native of Polk County, N.C. son of the late Ellis and Ethel Burrell Revan, he was a retired car dealer, a U.S. Navy Veteran, and of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Ellen Ballard Revan of the home; three daughters, Darla Schupbach of Easley, Rhonda Palacios of Corpus Christy, Texas and Monica Davis of Duncan; a son, Brandon Revan of Greer; a brother, Donald Revan of Landrum; two sisters, Helen Berry and Wilma Moody both of Inman; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Revan was predeceased by three brothers, J.C. Revan, William Revan and Charles Revan and three sisters, Etta Mae Amerson, Alma Chapman and Cora McAllister.
Memorial services will be held 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Wood Mortuary conducted by Rev. Bobby Henderson.
Visitation will follow after the service at Wood Mortuary.
The families are at their respective homes.
