Greenville County Councilman Tony Trout came to The Greer Citizen to tell his side of this morning’s committee meeting monitoring his ongoing investigation.
The committee called, which Trout said was formed to add flame to the fire, attempt to go into an executive session called by Butch Kirven.
Trout, with his camera and recorder, said he and fellow council member Lottie Gibson refused to leave the committee, which Trout said is made up of Kirven’s “lap dogs”.
At the end of the meeting, “Butch said (quote un quote) ‘We are going into executive session. Everyone must leave.”
(The Greenville News reported the committee voted to go into executive session.)
“After executive session, we will call each council member in. If they have any questions, we’ll answer it.’ I said, ‘this is a Greenville Council committee meeting. Not a Butch Kirven meeting.
“‘We don’t have to leave. We’re not going to leave.’ Praise Lottie, she said, ‘You’re going to have to carry me out.’”
