A newly-formed Commission will be tasked with overseeing the progress of the Inman Trail, as a portion of the statewide Palmetto Trail project will be established in Inman.
The Inman Trail Commission, began meeting in late May, and will work under the guidance of the city’s Planning Commission. Trail Commission members include Summer Tebalt, Jessica Sisco, Sasha Price, Ricky Pace, and Richard Lane.
The Trail Commission has begun work on a very busy schedule. Among their tasks are the assesment of existing trail conditions; identification of desirable trail attributes, to include visiting and researching other trails and facets of the Inman trail that are uniquely “Inman”; identification of trail criteria, including walkway widths and materials, landscaping options, and physical improvements; identifying zoning recommendations; identification of grants, assistance groups, and trail signage; and public relations.
