At the end of a month-long investigation, Spartanburg County sheriff’s narcotics investigators seized nearly 400 pounds of marijuana from an Inman home and put two men behind bars for drug trafficking.
Sheriff Chuck Wright announced the major drug bust at a press conference last Wednesday and praised the work of his narcotics unit in removing a substantial amount of illegal drugs from the market.
Alexis Maldonado Gallego, 21, no known address, and Emir Acuna Serrano, 23, of 270 Chateau St., Boiling Springs, are both charged with one count each of possession of a weapon during a violent crime and trafficking marijuana greater than 100 pounds. Both remained behind bars in the Spartanburg County Detention Center without bond as of press time Monday.
According to the incident report, investigators were directed to an area near the intersection of I-26 and New Cut Road on Tuesday, Oct. 4, where the purchase of a quantity of marijuana had been arranged. The two subjects were observed arriving at the location and were later followed to 270 Chateau Dr.
