In the grand dance that was the recruiting experience of Marcus Lattimore, South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier knew all the right steps.
Lattimore chose the Gamecocks over Auburn on Tuesday night, in part because of the comfortable feeling he got during his visits at the university.
So, what did Spurrier do to close the deal?
“He did the cha-cha slide with my mama,” the standout running back reported with a huge grin.
Spurrier’s moves on the dance floor secured him the services of a runner with plenty of moves of his own. Lattimore rushed for over 6,000 yards in his high school career and was ranked among the top five running backs in the nation by virtually every recruiting service.
