Byrnes football coach Chris Miller was all smiles at the end of the first day of drills on Monday.
“I am enjoying it, and the kids are excited,” Miller said. “Today went as smooth as any of the first two practices we have had since I have been here.”
The Rebels practiced early in the morning, and met again at Beech Springs Intermediate School from 6-8 p.m. Although the temperature was still in the high 80s at the end of the second practice, Miller said the team was able to handle the heat on the first day.
“I think the heat will be a factor once we put the pads on,” Miller said. “But the kids are in the best shape I can remember seeing this early in the season.”
