In the latest action of the embattled Holly Springs fire commission, the board voted last Thursday to offer the position of permanent part-time chief to Tim Campbell, a fireman currently with the Pelham-Batesville department, during a specially called meeting.
Commissioners Kelly Waters and Roscoe Kyle joined Chairman Ryan Phillips in voting to offer the position to Campbell. The vote authorized the chairman to enter negotiations with Campbell on the job, those negotiations to include salary and schedule.
Phillips said after the meeting that he could not comment on what qualifications of Campbell’s led the commission to its decision nor the terms of any offer those negotiations might produce.
