The Holly Springs Volunteer Fire Department’s Board of Commissioners met Monday, voting to accept the recommendations of new chief Tim Campbell for interim officers.
Upon Campbell’s recommendations, Russell Hart and Tony Patton were named interim Captains, while Jeff Duncan and Jason Melton were chosen as interim Lieutenants.
Campbell’s recommendations to the commissioners were made in a 52-minute executive session, which the commissioners voted to enter shortly after convening at 7 p.m.
The board also voted to cease the rental of all department property, including the fire station’s Community Room, until after November’s general election. The vote did not apply to the Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops who meet at the station, and Chairman Ryan Phillips said that he and Campbell would work with one rental already on the books to find a suitable solution.
