The Greer Commission of Public Works is planning to extend its natural gas service once again, and will offer incentives to potential new customers in the Holly Springs community in Spartanburg County.
CPW plans to lay gas lines along a one and one-quarter-mile stretch of Highway 357, making gas available to people who live along that route. CPW general manager Nick Stegall said that the gas line extension will be able to serve residences with addresses between 2902 and 3282 Highway 357 after it is completed.
Residents in that area that become CPW natural gas customers will receive a refund for the total cost of a $380 gas tap fee, and those who intend to use their new gas hook-ups to power a hot water heater will also receive a refund of $375 to defray the cost of purchasing a gas water heater.
