Sheriff’s Office names Nix top crime scene investigator
Jay King, Hometown News

Despite the cutting-edge technology and advanced techniques now being used in crime scene investigations that regularly capture the public’s imagination through shows like CSI and NCIS, Spartanburg County Sheriff’s investigator Sean Nix gets the most satisfaction from the venerable forensic art of fingerprinting.

The eight-year veteran deputy has degrees in history and criminal justice and has spent the past three years in crime scene investigations for the department.

He was named the 2009 Crime Scene Unit officer of the year earlier this month, an honor he also received two years ago when he was still relatively new to the unit.

For the rest of the story, see this week’s Middle Tyger Times.
