Whitmire Police Stop the Flow of Illegal Beer, Liquor

An observant Whitmire Police Department officer initiated an investigation that put a stop to the illegal sale of alcohol and liquor at the home of 71-year-old Ulyses Prather of 161 Duckett Street on Sunday, March 7th, when he noticed that there was a heavy traffic flow going to and from the Prather’s home.

According the incident report, when the officer  observed the flow of traffic, an undercover opertive was used to  purchase alcohol and liquor from Prather. Lt. Prather and Chief Sinclair then went to 161 Duckett Street and asked for permission to search the premises. Their search netted $1,399.00, 62 bottles of liquor, 86 cans of beer, 3 transaction ledgers, 1 refrigerator, 2 coolers, various bags, and a .32 caliber pistol.

For the rest of the story, see this week’s Whitmire News.

A open display of beer and liquor for sale were found during the search of Ulyses Prather’s home at 161 Duckett Street during the search by Chief Sinclair and Lt. Prather.
