Concerns raised at April’s Town Council meeting

By Maria Williamson McMurtury

A varied slate of business items and concerns were raised at April’s Town Council Meeting.

Recreation Director David Maness reported that things are moving along smoothly with this season’s team. He received a $100.00 donation from Bobby Kinard with a message saying “I know you will do great things for the children of Whitmire” Maness would like to have the group Gospel Grass entertain the seniors in the future and would like suggestions from the seniors as to what kind of program they would like.

Wendy Senn Cranford asked, “ How are pictures going to be handled?”   and she was told this would be decided in the near future. Mayor Carroll added SLED checks are done on every coach.

A resident asked what plans does the town have for the burnt - out house at 400 Church Street. Chief Sinclair said the house has been released to the owner and that there would be no insurance payoff to the owner.
