Relay for Life Fundraiser Held

The winners in the 2010 Miss Spectator Pageant were Karley Jenkins, 3rd Place; Jordan Suber, 2nd Place; Deanna Willard, 1st Place; and Alexandrea Cromer, Miss Spectator 2010.
Every year the Student Council at Whitmire Community School works hard to raise money for Relay for Life, a fundraising arm of the American Cancer Society that funds research for all types of cancer. This year one of their fundraisers was the “revival” of the Miss Spectator Pageant, which has not taken place for the last six years. The last time there was a Miss Spectator was 2004. From its inception, the pageant has always been a fundraiser for the school, and throughout the years the community has supported this pageant generously.
Seventeen girls ranging in age from 6 to 18 competed in the pageant. The youngest girls competed to become Wee Miss Spectator; all of them were in grades 1-3. Girls in grades 4-6 competed to become Little Miss Spectator, and girls in grades 7-8 competed to become Young Miss Spectator. The oldest group consisted of girls in grades 9-12.
