Jed Blackwell, sports editor Woodruff’s wait to wrestle for the 2A state championship is finally over.
After a delay of nearly two weeks, the Wolverines will take to the mat Thursday at 7 p.m. at Ridge View High School. Woodruff will face the Loris Lions in the state championship match.
Loris originally lost the Lower State final to Hanahan, but was declared the winner when Hanahan was found to have used an inelligible wrestler in the match. Hanahan appealed that ruling to the South Carolina High School League’s Executive Committee.
