Portrait of beloved police dog presented to City

Council Passes Resolution for Sale of WFD Truck

By Theron Willis
HOMETOWN NEWS

At the March city council meeting on Monday the 29th, the Wilson family presented the Woodruff City Police Department with an oil portrait of a recently deceased police dog named Doc,  who was endeared to the police and to the community.  Famed area artist  Robert Wilson read about the dog’s death in The Woodruff News and was so touched that he asked his son, Robert Wilson, Jr., who is also an artist,  to paint  the K-9’s portrait.

A smaller print was given to the dog’s handler,  K-9 officer Todd Hendrix. The Woodruff Police Department presented a plaque to the family in gratitude.

For the rest of the story, see this week’s Woodruff News.
