Teens share faith while sprucing up Kelly Acres playground

Alabama teen Zach Clark could have been doing anything during the week of his June 30 birthday. And he was.
The freshly turned 15 year old was slathering the first coat of grey paint onto a faded – and in some places rusted – swing set at Woodruff’s Kelly Acres on June 29.
“My dad signed me up for this trip. I was kind of iffy about it at first because it was during my birthday. But I prayed about it and felt I needed to come,” Clark said. “Spreading God’s word is a lot better than sitting at home on my birthday.”
Clark was one of 35 from Solitude Baptist Church in Albertville, Ala., who came to the area for Power Plant, a North American Mission Board program hosted by Rocky Creek Baptist Church in Greenville that drew five youth groups from across the country to the Upstate last week. The visiting groups brought a total of 188 people and teamed up with church plants in the area for hands-on learning about the Christian faith’s call to serve.
