After hours urgent care coming to Woodruff

Doctor’s Care to open August 1

By Brandon L. Leonard
HOMETOWN NEWS

After hours medical care unavailable in Woodruff since 2005 will be returning to the area on August 1 with the opening of Doctor’s Care at 220 Irby Street.
“We’re really excited about the investment, and the opportunity to provide quality healthcare services to a community that is looking for it,” said company spokesperson Ed McMullen.
Residents will have the chance to see the medical center before its August 1 grand opening at an open house event on July 30, McMullen said. The event will start at noon with drinks and snacks available, McMullen said. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is also scheduled for 1 p.m.
Doctor’s Care is a Certified Urgent Care Clinic, a designation granted by the Urgent Care Association of America based on the range and quality of a medical center’s services, according to the company’s web site.
“Woodruff has a very welcoming mayor and local government who were very supportive of bringing our investment into the community,” McMullen said. “And Woodruff is also a community that was clearly in need.”
County Council Member Jane W. Hall echoed the need residents of southern Spartanburg County and Woodruff have for a nearby medical center, especially after-hours care.
