A fight involving alcohol and a firearm broke out at Woodruff’s Kelly Acres subdivision on August 5, according to police reports.
Jason Patrick Tolison, 17, of Woodruff, was arrested by officers for trespass after notice, according to the report. Tolison was already on trespass notice from Kelly Acres, the report stated.
Tolison told officers he and other gang members were drinking in and around 127 Miller Drive when a 21-year-old Woodruff man said Tolison insulted him and then punched Tolison in the face, according to the report.
Tolison pulled a knife to defend himself and cut another man as he did so, the report stated.
Tolison ran but was chased by three men. The men eventually caught him, and the 21-year-old who felt insulted pointed a gun at Tolison and threatened to shoot him, according to Tolison’s testimony included in the report.
A crowd had formed around the fight and some started yelling, “Police!” At that, the three men chasing Tolison ran.
