McDonald’s to create 50–60 local jobs

By Brandon L. Leonard
HOMETOWN NEWS

About 50 to 60 new jobs should be created with the opening of the new McDonald’s, owner and operator Julia Skipper said on August 9.
“Depending on the volume, we’ll be hiring about 50 to 60 folks and putting them to work,” Skipper said in a presentation to the Woodruff Rotary Club at their weekly luncheon on August 9. “We’re excited about it.”
Interested residents can submit their applications online at www.mcdonalds.com/us/en/careers.html. As of August 9, 12 people had already submitted applications to work at the restaurant, which will open around October 27, Skipper said.
“We hire all ages. We’re a very diverse group,” Skipper said. “It’s a wonderful first job and can be a wonderful career.”
And Skipper would know.
