City Manager Stephen Steese submitted his letter of resignation on September 13 to the mayor and city council.
“My family and I thank you for the opportunity that you provided when you invited us to become a part of this community in February 2009,” Steese wrote in his resignation letter. “The citizens of Woodruff, the City Council, and the employees of Woodruff have been a pleasure to work for and with, and have made this decision a difficult one.”
His final day working for the city will be November 12.
Steese will be moving to Roxboro, North Carolina, where he will start working as the town’s city manager. Roxboro is in the Research Triangle area of North Carolina and is a larger city than Woodruff, Steese said.
