Woodruff Resident is First Inductee into S.C. Centenarian Society
THERON WILLIS, HOMETOWN NEWS

Willie Irene Floyd was born on May 12, 1904 and while not a native, she has lived in Woodruff longer than nearly all of the native Woodruffians have been alive.

And last week 105-year-old Willie Irene Floyd was honored for her longevity and contribution with an induction by Lt. Governor André Bauer into the newly formed South Carolina Centenarian Society.

Ms. Floyd was honored at the Hometown News office on Main St. with the event being filmed by “Prime Of Life”, a regional weekly TV show that addresses issues facing senior citizens.

For the rest of the story, see this week’s Woodruff News.
